Morrisons have built an incredibly diverse business, and they’re working hard to make sure they truly represent the communities we serve.
And that they always respect and understand the things that make each one of us unique.
Whoever you are and whatever your background, Morrisons take the time to care. Enough to help everyone, from anywhere, feel welcome.
Morrisons is a place where you can be yourself, and feel like you really belong. And they encourage the kind of behaviours that make it possible.
Working at Morrisons isn’t just about feeling welcome yourself – it’s also about helping everyone else feel welcome here, too.
They’re continuing to build confidence about starting up conversations around important subjects like gender, ethnicity, race, religion and more. This is supported by their Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, Women in Morrisons and LGBT+ internal communities.
They take a zero tolerance approach when it comes to standing up, speaking up, and challenging discrimination of any kind. And they’ll keep moving in the right direction, learning how to better understand each other, and becoming stronger as they do it.
Women in Morrisons should be free to pursue their career ambitions. And they help them do just that through their Women in Leadership Programme. With inspiring events and a targeted development programme, this initiative prepares women to take on more senior roles in the future.
At Morrisons, we believe that flexible working can really make a difference. It can help us be more productive as a business. It can bring all kinds of health benefits. And it puts everyone’s wellbeing first.
So, at Head Office we’re beginning to introduce a brand new 4 day week working concept, which means many of our people will work nine hour shifts instead of eight hours, with a six hour Saturday shift thirteen times a year. The idea is that this innovative new way of working will mean we’re much more flexible and responsive, and we think it will make Morrisons a place where more people will want to join – and stay.
Morrisons have opportunities at all levels, from entry level right through to director level. Don’t just take the word of Morrisons though, about how great it is to work with them, listen to the people who already work in their teams. Here, 3 employees have kindly wrote about a day in their life at HMRC.
“That’s an achievement I’m really proud of, seeing products that I’ve helped develop actually hit the shelves.”
Marketing manager – digital marketing
“You get involved in things that some people might never get the chance to get involved with, so it’s very varied.”
Accountant – property finance
“You don’t always think about it as a customer. But it’s amazing what goes on behind the scenes at a major supermarket. It’s really interesting.”
